Transparency for infrastructure services in SAP®
The use of infrastructure facilities is often associated with the collection and billing of mass data. When billing for individual uses, the focus may be on the one hand on the intention to make a profit or on the other hand on the goal of releasing bottleneck resources of the infrastructure as quickly as possible and creating incentives for this.
The task is to identify the individual services from the data supplied and to assign quantities and prices to them. It is often extremely difficult to present the complex billing facts in the system and thus to make the services comprehensible for the employee.
HPC has developed the MILES application architecture – Message-based Integrated Pay for Performance System – a solution with SAP® standard that creates transparency in the use of a complex infrastructure and enables flexible billing.
Central cockpit for infrastructure service
A special feature of the HPC solution is the central cockpit. This provides a clear analysis of the complex interrelationships of the services provided and the resulting items to be billed even before the invoice is generated. The solution is in use at an HPC customer in Hamburg. More than ten thousand infrastructure services per day are billed here.
