ISOLITE
Customer: ISOLITE
Project duration: 6 months
Our customer:
For more than 30 years, the ISOLITE Group has been the innovation and technology leader for insulation and sealing systems in the high-temperature range between 400 and 1,600 °C. With four locations in Europe, North America and Asia, ISOLITE supplies almost all well-known OEMs and system manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace and commercial vehicle industries worldwide. ISOLITE‘s high-temperature insulation systems help to widely improve exhaust gas aftertreatment and thus reduce consumption and emission levels. In addition to conserving energy and heat in the exhaust gas stream and protecting surrounding components, ISOLITE systems enable wide-ranging acoustic insulation options – from thermoacoustic insulation of a diesel particulate filter to complete enclosure of a gas turbine in power plant construction.
Initial situation and project aims:
Isolite uses an external warehouse management system with connection to mobile devices in all warehouses. The ERP software is SAP® ERP 6.0 without a distinctive warehouse management. The WLAN coverage is not comprehensive. In order to eliminate error-proneness and interface limitations, SAP® WM including a mobile online solution is to be introduced for a new warehouse building. Warehouse management is to be implemented for three locations in Germany and one location in the USA. The processes from goods receipt to delivery will be carried out on a mobile basis via the scanner-based Mobisys solution (MSB®), including control of mobile printers.
What did HPC do?
We designed SAP® WM processes and set them up at four locations for
- High rack storage, outdoor storage, small parts storage
- Storage unit management, putaway/storage bin type indicator
- WM-PP interface
- Batch management activated client-wide for existing materials
Mobile processes
- Stock transfer, goods receipt (with quality inspection and palletizing, if necessary) and storage from production or externally
- Picking for manufacturing and delivery
- Mobile label printing for goods receipt label and storage unit
- Label comparison VDA/ own label and reprint function
- Storage bin blocking and info transactions
- Warehouse move (non-WM to WM warehouse with move transactions in SAP)
Further mobile processes
- Route optimization, capacity utilization display, priority assignment
- Real-time mapping and split TA positions
- Reprint storage labels
Customer benefits:
- Process reliability - through mobile processes & error minimization during booking
- Space-accurate inventories in SAP with faster and transparent processes
- Traceability for customer's client through batch management
- Simple movement of storage units possible
Systems affected, software used,
methods & quantification of the task
- SAP ERP 6.0, SAP® WM
- HPC.WM Warehouse monitor
- Mobisys Solution Builder (MSB®)
- MDE: Motorola Symbol MC9190G with extended Range 2D Imager
- Mobile printer: Zebra QLn-420 and Zebra ZM 400 (local)
