Charging system for rail transport services in SAP®.
Is the leading seaport in northern Germany and the second largest rail operator in Germany.
The number of trains is expected to double in the coming years, with the number of carriages also increasing sharply. Since the existing infrastructure is almost at capacity and a quantitative expansion of capacity is only possible to a very limited extent for lack of available space alone, utilization productivity must be significantly improved.
The current infrastructure uses a charge system as an incentive system for:
The existing charging system for billing various services related to trains and wagons is to be transferred to a new, flexible and modular SAP®-based architecture.
The new target architecture is aimed to
Reporting on the complete data stock – before and after redesign – is to be made possible. The service life and movement data are imported from a previous system (approx. 15,000 train and wagon movements/day).
What did HPC do?
The new HPC solution follows the HPC principle “Individual in Standard” and is characterized by:
A special feature of the new solution is the central cockpit. This provides a clear analysis option of the complex interrelationships of the services rendered and the items billed from them even before the invoice is generated.
In addition, the worklist with errors from the inbound processing of transaction data, idle times or automatic master data creation is created for the specialist department in this cockpit.
