Implementation of an SAP Change Management

Our customer:
S. Siedle & Söhne Telefon- und Telegrafenwerke OHG is one of the leading manufacturers of building communication technology in Germany and throughout Europe. The long-established family company manufactures everything that serves communication in and around the home – for more than 260 years at the same location, in uncompromising quality and multiple award-winning design. In 2015, Siedle achieved consolidated sales of 92 million euros with 550 employees. In Germany, Siedle door intercoms achieve a market share of around 50 percent. The export share is just under 25 percent.
Initial situation and project aims:
The project objective was to replace the previous in-house developed DB/2-based change management solution with an SAP-based solution as part of an SAP implementation project. The following requirements are met by the new change management process:
- Support for the approval process for change requests
- Increasing the transparency of the change progress
- Reduction of throughput times by embedding the involved areas/employees via workflows
- Transparency for all departments involved such as purchasing, controlling, product management and service
- Integration of inventory management and procurement processes into change management
- Ensuring adherence to deadlines through traffic light functions and status tracking
- Recognition of costs associated with the change
- Integration of the basic data maintenance in SAP with the documentation of the redundant, changed and new parts
- Integration of the inlet and outlet control of parts
- Ensuring quick information about important changes via email
What did HPC do?
- Mapping of the complete change management process as a workflow in SAP® ERP with ABAP objects
- Add-on development based on SAP standard objects
- Integration in SAP® ERP
- Development of release processes by means of workflow, dynamic worklists for the departments, generation and emailing of HTML forms
