These include the service areas of cell line and process development, GMP production, formulation, filling, analytics, quality control, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance. Thanks to its many years of experience (the company was founded in 1927) and 560 employees, Rentschler is one of the world’s leading providers in the field.
Ausgangssituation und Projektziel:
As part of the “Auto ID” project, Rentschler Biotechnologie is planning to introduce an Auto ID system (barcode system) for system-controlled SAP management of material flows across the entire Rentschler campus, taking into account all departments: Production, Development, Analytics and Logistics.
Through the SAP-managed material flows, material flows on the campus are to be transparent and material consumption postings are to be made in real time. Paper-based work is to be reduced. Seamless system-based cold chain tracking and tracking of bag containers on campus shall be ensured. For this purpose, the processes related to the material flow are to be analyzed and adapted if necessary.
The mobile SAP solution to be implemented at Rentschler Biotechnologie must meet the following requirements:
- Fully integrated into SAP® and certified add-on
- Integrated user and device management
- Effective transmission protocol for fast response times with a high number of end devices
- Easy scalability when implementing new processes
- The development and further development of the mobile platform must be done completely in ABAP
What did HPC do?
Design and implementation of the following mobile and paperless processes:
- Goods receipt (for process orders)
- Picking from stock and stock transfers
- Goods issue for process order
- Return shipment
- Storage after production
- Quality control
- Other transactions/processes (printing missing parts list, label printing, blocking and destruction, inventory, LE-Info, etc.)
- The SAP integration of mobile scanners was realized with the Mobisys Solution Builder MSB®.
- Delivery and implementation of more than 100 (among others GMP-certified) mobile terminals
- Separation of batches to pack batches for exact mapping of individual packs

- Route optimization, status management for TA processing, priority assignment
- Real-time mapping and split TA positions
- Reprint storage bin labels
