Automatic warehouse integration in SAP® EWM
In order to increase efficiency and quality in the development and configuration of warehouse management systems, it makes sense to test them as extensively as possible before they are used in real operation and in the event of problems occurring in productive operation.
Test scenarios without a productive system
Often, however, the productive environment is not available because it is not accessible locally or is even still in the planning or development phase itself. As a result, the workload in the development and test phase is often strongly determined by the emulation of the material flow computer. Creating messages manually can be time-consuming, and there is often a lack of time and/or knowledge to create automated test systems. In addition, some errors can only be detected under high loads or special constellations, which can thus only be generated by the productive environment.
MfSim and TeleSim
For testing the communication interface between the warehouse management computer and the material flow computer, the company IT-Forum has developed the products MfSim and TeleSim.
These are discrete-event material flow simulators that assume the role of the material flow computer or an equivalent system in test operation.
This makes it possible to test the behavior of the warehouse management system without having to use or even have the actual hardware.
Graphical simulation interface
A graphical simulation interface allows the user to visualize the behavior of the configured storage system in real time or in single step mode. A tabular as well as a visual view can be used.
The simulator offers numerous possibilities to manually intervene in the process and also to emulate error situations. Scenarios configured in the simulation can be saved and are thus also available for extensions after the main project has been completed.
