Efficient & performant logistics systems
In order to map all processes efficiently, additional functions have become necessary in terms of speed, flexibility and transparency. The SAP® Supply Chain Execution solution portfolio integrates the operational logistics systems SAP® Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) with integrated Material Flow Management (MFS) and SAP® Transportation Management (TM).
Depending on company size and volume, the solutions can be scaled and logistics processes can be designed more flexibly. Various deployment options and architecture variants are available for the integrated use of EWM, TM and the ERP modules. The solutions can be used with different levels of functionality and therefore different license models. Sub-functions such as automation, complex dispatch processing and real-time information can be individually combined depending on requirements. One platform for all
Implementation in a single instance is made possible. SAP S/4HANA with embedded EWM, embedded TM together with the ERP modules combines the main components of the SCE solutions on one S/4HANA system. This also means that the individual processes of the three previously independent solutions are now more deeply integrated. This holistic approach avoids system discontinuities, as data can be shared and no interfaces are required.
The integration of the partial solutions enables, for example, more efficient wave planning of picking processes in EWM by directly integrating important information from transportation management (TM). Storage and retrieval strategies can be adapted based on the arrival times of the transport service providers planned in TM. This ensures optimized utilization of all resources. In addition, a forklift control system, mobile transactions, comprehensive HU management and material flow control (MFS) are fully integrated.
